Verse:001
Abdul Daryabadi : Hallow thou the name of thine Lord, the Most High,
Dr. Mohsin : Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Pronounce the purity of the name of your most exalted Lord,
Pickthal : Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High,
Yusuf Ali : Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High,


Verse:002
Abdul Daryabadi : Who hath created and then proportioned,
Dr. Mohsin : Who has created (everything), and then proportioned it;
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Who created (everything), then made (it) well,
Pickthal : Who createth, then disposeth;
Yusuf Ali : Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion;


Verse:003
Abdul Daryabadi : And Who hath disposed and then guided,
Dr. Mohsin : And Who has measured (preordainments for everything even to be blessed or wretched); and then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture);
Mufti Taqi Usmani : And who determined a measure (for everything), then guided (it), [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : Who measureth, then guideth;
Yusuf Ali : Who hath ordained laws. And granted guidance;


Verse:004
Abdul Daryabadi : And Who bringeth forth the pasturage,
Dr. Mohsin : And Who brings out the pasturage,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : And who brought forth pasturage,
Pickthal : Who bringeth forth the pasturage,
Yusuf Ali : And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture.


Verse:005
Abdul Daryabadi : Then maketh it to stubble dusky.
Dr. Mohsin : And then makes it dark stubble
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Then turned it into a blackening stubble. [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : Then turneth it to russet stubble.
Yusuf Ali : And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble.


Verse:006
Abdul Daryabadi : We shall enable thee to recite, and then thou shalt not forget,
Dr. Mohsin : We shall make you to recite (the Qur'ân), so you (O Muhammad (SAW)) shall not forget (it),
Mufti Taqi Usmani : We will make you recite, then you will not forget
Pickthal : We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget
Yusuf Ali : By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget,


Verse:007
Abdul Daryabadi : Save that which Allah may will. Verily He knoweth the public and that which is hidden.
Dr. Mohsin : Except what Allâh, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden.
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Except that which Allah wills. [QETafseerComment] Indeed He knows what is manifest and what is hidden.
Pickthal : Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden;
Yusuf Ali : Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden.


Verse:008
Abdul Daryabadi : And We shall make easy Unto thee the easy way.
Dr. Mohsin : And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (SAW)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds).
Mufti Taqi Usmani : And We will facilitate for you (to reach) the easiest way. [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease.
Yusuf Ali : And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path).


Verse:009
Abdul Daryabadi : Wherefore admonish thou; admonition hath surely profited,
Dr. Mohsin : Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them)
Mufti Taqi Usmani : So, extend advice (to people) if advice is useful. [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : Therefore remind (men), for of use is the reminder.
Yusuf Ali : Therefore give admonition in case the admonition profits (the hearer).


Verse:010
Abdul Daryabadi : Admonished is he indeed who feareth,
Dr. Mohsin : The reminder will be received by him who fears (Allâh),
Mufti Taqi Usmani : The one who fears (Allah) will observe the advice,
Pickthal : He will heed who feareth,
Yusuf Ali : The admonition will be received by those who fear (Allah):


Verse:011
Abdul Daryabadi : And the wretched shunneth it-.
Dr. Mohsin : But it will be avoided by the wretched,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : And it will be avoided by the most wretched one
Pickthal : But the most hapless will flout it,
Yusuf Ali : But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones.


Verse:012
Abdul Daryabadi : He Who shall roast into the Great Fire,
Dr. Mohsin : Who will enter the great Fire (and will be made to taste its burning).
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Who will enter the Biggest Fire,
Pickthal : He who will be flung to the great Fire
Yusuf Ali : Who will enter the Great Fire,


Verse:013
Abdul Daryabadi : Wherein he shall neither die nor live,
Dr. Mohsin : There he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living).
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Then he will neither die therein, nor live (a desirable life).
Pickthal : Wherein he will neither die nor live.
Yusuf Ali : In which they will then neither die nor live.


Verse:014
Abdul Daryabadi : He indeed hath attained bliss who hath cleansed himself,
Dr. Mohsin : Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islâmic Monotheism) shall achieve success,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Success is surely achieved by him who purifies himself,
Pickthal : He is successful who groweth,
Yusuf Ali : But those will prosper who purifies themselves.


Verse:015
Abdul Daryabadi : And who remembereth the name of his Lord, and then prayeth.
Dr. Mohsin : And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allâh), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawâfil — additional prayers).
Mufti Taqi Usmani : And pronounces the name of his Lord, then offers prayer.
Pickthal : And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth,
Yusuf Ali : And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in Prayer.


Verse:016
Abdul Daryabadi : But ye prefer the life of this world,
Dr. Mohsin : Nay, you prefer the life of this world,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : But you prefer the worldly life,
Pickthal : But ye prefer the life of the world
Yusuf Ali : Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world;


Verse:017
Abdul Daryabadi : Whereas the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
Dr. Mohsin : Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
Mufti Taqi Usmani : While the Hereafter is much better and much more durable.
Pickthal : Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
Yusuf Ali : But the Hereafter is better and more enduring.


Verse:018
Abdul Daryabadi : Verily this is in Writs ancient
Dr. Mohsin : Verily, this is in the former ******ures —
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Indeed this is (written) in the earlier divine ******s,
Pickthal : Lo! This is in the former scrolls.
Yusuf Ali : And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelations)―


Verse:019
Abdul Daryabadi : Writs of Ibrahim and Musa.
Dr. Mohsin : The ******ures of Ibrâhim (Abraham) and Mûsa (Moses).
Mufti Taqi Usmani : The ******s of Ibrahim and Musa.
Pickthal : The Books of Abraham and Moses.
Yusuf Ali : The Books of Abraham and Moses.
